Held at the City of Rocks, a world-class cragging area in southern
Idaho, the Hot Rocks Youth Rock Climbing Camp is an in-depth seminar
for youths in the techniques and safety practices of modern rock
climbing. In addition to skills development and ascents of dozens of
the "City's" classic routes, participants can also expect a thorough
course in the proper use of technical climbing equipment.
At the City we will stage from primitive campsites in a 'car camping'
setting. Days will consist of hiking and visiting the many grottoes
where endless rock spires are nestled throughout a magical paradise
of aspens, pinyon pines and mountain mahogany. Throughout the five
days our youth group will learn about the area's unique geology, flora
and fauna, and Western History.
