Winter in the Sawtooths is a quiet time. Snow blankets the Stanley area and accentuates the alpine look of the high peaks. It’s a perfect time to get out and explore the mountains.

Our winter specialty is hut skiing at the Williams Peak Yurt, a traditional Mongolian shelter complete with bunks, kitchen, and wood burning stove. The Williams Peak Yurt is part of the Sawtooth Hut System which is operated in conjunction with Sun Valley Trekking. In total there are three winter huts and it is possible to rent one or all of them with or without a guide.

We also offer a variety of instructional programs on our Winter Calendar including a full slate of avalanche education classes, and spring ski mountaineering camps.
