Summer Home

Summer in the Sawtooths offers a wide variety of recreational activities. The jagged Sawtooth Range is excellent for wilderness hiking to alpine rock climbing. In the summer we specialize in rock climbing, hiking/trekking and peak climbs.

For the rock climbing enthusiast a number of classic climbs are accessed from Redfish Lake into the Sawtooth Wilderness. We also offer excellent high desert climbing at the world famous City of Rocks.

The Sawtooth is renowned for its amazing and unique summits. Ascent routes can be hiking, steep snow climbing in a couloir, or multi-pitch rock climbs (or a combination). There are a handful of standard peaks and areas that we frequent, mainly accessed from Redfish Lake. However the sky is the limit in the Sawtooth and if there is an area you would like to explore chances are we can take you there. Staples include Heyburn, Warbonnet and Grand Mogul. We also do guided climbs on Idaho's highest peak, Mount Borah.

For the hikers excellent options are available ranging from half day morning jaunts, alpine view meadows, or an all day trek to explore a high alpine lake basin. These alpine getaways offer unique trekking and fishing opportunities and pristine quite and solitude.

There are many scheduled outdoor events and courses throughout the summer. These include peak climbs, cragging, and instructional courses such as climbing and alpine skills. Check out our summer calender or courses page to learn more!

The warmer months are also when most of our custom adventures take place because of the diverse recreational opportunities. These can take place in Idaho or through-out the Western US. Check out our Custom adventures page for more details!
